I'm of that mind. If it's a vacation or family trip and you're not going to bring the "home life" with you, don't bring along any devices that contradict the idea.

I gave up cell phones entirely about a month ago and am really enjoying the experience. I lived for 30 years without one, and recreating that experience has been refreshing.

It's very similar to quitting smoking. I'm not reaching for something in my pocket all day long. I don't have cravings to use something in my pocket. My driving won't get interrupted by what I'm holding/doing. I can leave home without checking to see if I remembered to grab the THING. I'm not dependent on the THING to give myself a sense of interconnectedness with humanity, neither is it required to massage anxiety. And I can contact clients in a much more comfortable frame of mind: at my desk, after a drink of water, after using the bathroom, and while smiling inwardly to myself thinking about freedom.
