Thanks Darcy - obviously you meant GB not MB....

the Q I stilll have tho is whether there is something that allows you 
to have some sort of casing then insert and backup/copy to a megaGB 
drive then take it out and plug in a replacement?  Again, sort of a 
zip drive or JAZ drive times 50 or so.....

but good ideas, and I'll look...it's just that RAW photos take up 
loads of space!
