Quicktime 7 is free... no really! Only two occasions I can think of  
in which it wouldn't be:

1. You already have the Pro version of QT 6 ($30 upgrade to v. 7) and  
need to keep using it.

2. Your Mac isn't currently running 10.3.9 or 10.4.x.
