Actually, we have a 2 TB drive from Lacie, and . Now, these monster
drives are actually multiple drives in a RAID 0 configuration,
meaning that there is a greater chance for data loss than if you use
a single drive configuration. (RAID 0 means that there is no
redundancy between drives and every other write function is
alternated between drives. If you lose a drive, and you have more
than one set of drive hardware to fail, you lose all of the drives.)
Maxtor has a 1 TB, and Micronet has a 1.5 TB drive. These are all
self contained, meaning they appear the same as one disk firewire
drives, only larger. You can get even bigger if you opt for firewire
RAID enclosures, which have ejectable drives.
