I use the + thing a lot... but what's irritating is a lot of sites won't let you submit an email address containing the + character.

Even more irritating is sites that let you submit it, then the character breaks their system because they don't filter their input and / or escape special characters.

I'm not sure if it is Gmail specific but you can use "disposable email addresses". Next time sign up using an email address like tdwalton+internetcom@gmail.com. Everything after the + is just a label and email will still be delivered to your account. You can then filter based on the To address.
I made the mistake of giving Internet.com my email address. They've
been sending me two of their newsletters, but I keep unsubscribing.
I've unsubscribed probably 7 or 8 times now. I've tried the
"unsubscribe all" link, I've tried unsubscribing from one at a time,
etc. Sometimes the newsletters will stop coming for a couple of
months, sometimes they'll stop for literally one day, but they always
come back. I've sent email to membersupport@internet.com five
different times. I tried polite request, humorous comment, and angry
tone, but I've not received one single bit in reply.

Anyone have any suggestions?
