I think what I'll do is hire a part-time sysadmin who can help ensure backups are working and who can maybe help set up the auto-scaling stuff. <div><br></div><div>Right now on one micro instance ($0.02/hour) I'm getting about 60 req/sec. I can scale that up to 5 instances and get nearly linear scaling. I think that will get me through for a while. </div><div>
<br></div><div>Optimizing Django turned out to be a bit tricky and it seems to be CPU intensive. Therefore I was think I'd have to buy servers in order to scale. However I was able to use the Django Debug Toolbar to find some areas needing improvement. Also, for work I've been doing some performance analysis and found out that Jinja2 may be able to provide a significant boost in addition to what I'm seeing now.</div>
