Look into using the plugin W3TotalCache - it has support for both APC and Memcached object caching - it also automatically handles minimizing and filesystem caching static pages, as well as CDN support.<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">

Hi, I agree, the sites are slow, the first one especially so. Maybe you're getting a rush from the e-mail, but I clocked them using time GET <a href="http://family.kulish.com/" target="_blank">http://family.kulish.com/</a> > /tmp/output.txt<div>
<br></div><div>And they were 7-9 seconds for tech and 5-7 seconds for family. Comparing that to my wordpress site, I get 0.869 seconds.</div><div><br></div><div>I looked at your HTTP headers and I don't see any sign that you're using a PHP accelerator. That can boost your speed a good 7x on wordpress.</div>
<div><br></div><div>On Ubuntu, and probably Debian, you can do:</div><div><br></div><div>sudo apt-get install php5-xcache</div><div><br></div><div>It will enable itself and restart apache for you.</div><div><div><div></div>

After some discussion about it on other venues, I thought I'd throw an email out to the list about this.<br>

I'm looking to gain a bit of performance on a KVM server running Wordpress. Nothing is sacred here, I am even entertaining alternatives<br>
to the standard Apache+mod_php here.<br>
<br>
My needs are pretty basic. Standard LAMP stack currently.<br>

Named Virtual Domains<br>
PHP<br>
<br>
All WP sites have db_cache enabled.<br>
<br>
<a href="http://tech.kulish.com" target="_blank">http://tech.kulish.com</a><br>
This is the problem child. It does more backend processing for various items.<br>
<br>
<a href="http://family.kulish.com" target="_blank">http://family.kulish.com</a><br>
Seems to run quick enough. You tell me :)<br>
<br>
<a href="http://cars.kulish.com" target="_blank">http://cars.kulish.com</a><br>
PG-13!!! Anyway, seems to run fast enough as well.<br>
<br>
I also run some monitoring stuff at other virtual domains, a mediaserver as well webmail.<br>
