Also, keep in mind you'll be paying an extra $10/mo for the "kick ass processor" and so on and so forth (or for the 4G we don't have here....). The Samsung Transform's the Epic's little brother. Just got my wife this phone. While it's no Epic it's not bad. 800MHz processor does pretty well. No HW3D which is kind of annoying when playing Angry Birds ('cause everyone loves angry birds). My only thing with the transform is the digitizer seems a bit inaccurate, but that may be due to the screen protector on it.
Both are ARMv7 architecture. Evo is HTC, Epic is Samsung. Each company likes to do their own customizations to the UI and both are notorious for taking a while to provide over the air updates. I've used the Evo and found it to be a phenomenal screen and processor. I've not used the Epic but I'd expect it to be comparable.

I'd say that it really comes down to preference. One benefit of the keyboard equipped devices is that it gives you more room on the screen when typing into text boxes since the on-screen keyboards obscure part of the screen. One benefit of the on-screen keyboard is that you can see it from any angle and in any lighting conditions and it can be compact (portrait mode) or wide (landscape mode). Also, the on-screen keyboard devices tend to be slimmer.

I'm changing phones. I'm on Sprint and unlikely to change for reasons of price.

I am thinking about either the Epic or the Evo. I am leaning towards the Epic as I like physical keyboards, but am open to other opinions.

Thoughts?

Also, if anyone knows of a better provider than Sprint, I'd be interested in hearing those opinions as well.
