"sudo apt-get install openssh-server" will fix it.<br><br>Also, for remote access, I've been using nx from www.nomachine.com. It runs over SSH, so that's the only port you need to open, and will still let you use your shell from a traditional ssh client. <div>Is there any way to make sure SSH is installed and running after installing ubuntu from CD? Or Remote Desktop/VNC? I've done remote installs before without realizing that even if these were installed and turned on on the live cd they won't be after the
reboot into the installed OS.<br>
