The best thing you can do is sit down with an individual recruiter and discuss with them how they do their business. A lot of them that work for smaller local firms are very reputable.<br><br>I currently use Alliance Technologies (mainly because I used to work for them full-time) and Paragon IT Professionals. I have had discussions with a recruiter from QCI as well, and they seem to be worth working with, but I am fairly well-represented as of right now.<br>

I have worked with Robert Half in the past and had nothing but a<br>
negative experience working with them. They will do whatever it takes to<br>
get you into a position that makes them money, including being less than<br>
truthful with their contractors about the positions. I would never<br>
recommend them to anyone.<br>

I currently work in consulting with QCI localy based here in Des Moines.<br>
QCI does recruiting as well, however they treat their contractors far<br>
better than anyone else I have seen. Offering benefits and continuing to<br>
pay them to work in the office between contracts. If you are looking for<br>
something full-time they can probably find it for you.<br>
