I would never recommend putting /usr/local before /usr.&nbsp; The system executables should always take precedence from a security perspective.&nbsp; I&#39;m not sure how you made the change to the PATH variable, so I don&#39;t know why when you logged out and back in it didn&#39;t take.<br>
<br>As for the misprint of /usr/rc.d as opposed to /etc/rc.d, it must have been a typo.&nbsp; Is this a first edition book?&nbsp; The path in FreeBSD hasn&#39;t changed in any recent versions.<br><br>--<br>Jerry H<br>
