<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">I picked up a Cingular wireless data
card for my sister who lives out in rural Iowa outside the range for Cable/DSL/PrairieInet.
I got the Sierra Wireless card configured in a laptop with Fedora
6 using pppd. </font>

and pppd? </font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">I am seeing about 30-40K/sec thoughput
which I think is pretty good. Latency kind of sucks around 300-400ms.</font>
<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">But all in all much better than 56k
dialup (actually usually 24-36kbps connections).</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">The only thing not working is dial on
demand. I added the "idle" and "demand" commands
to the pppd options file, but the link never seems to timeout.</font>
