out what codecs are supported by voxalot. something like gsm might be
good. Or g.729 if everything in the call path will support

the network you are on is one of those "homegrown" networks run by "a
couple of guys", then it might be NATted like crazy. You may want to try
skype (I can't believe I just said that), or find a phone service and soft phone
that supports IAX protocol. There are several soft phones and one service
I am familiar with is nuphone. (I'm assuming you want to get to the PSTN
in the US. Maybe I am wrong)</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV></DIV>ok. i'm messing with voxalot and trying to figure out what all the
advantages to sip are.<BR><BR>so far i understand that it is a large "phone
network" i'm trying to figure out how i can use it to make quality phone calls
from here in iraq to back home. <BR><BR>i do have broadband. and can make
regular sip calls just fine.<BR><BR>any ideas or experience stories are good.
