Mythtv should work fine with any receiver that is controlled by IR with an
IR-Blaster. You just have to give the myth box the codes to send to the
receiver and have a compatible tuner card.

Oh, and yeah, the HD TiVo's don't work with sat either. If you're looking
for HD Sat recording, your best bet might be to get the provider's DVR. SD
TiVo's should still work with sat though.

Same here. I bought a HD tuner that at the time was not Linux compatible.
I think that's been fixed though. As for working with satellite, I don't
know how you'd get that to work with MythTV. Since it origionally wasn't
compatible with my tuner I never got it set up either.

I was looking at the latest tivos but it seems that they no longer support
satellite dishes. I've yet to get mythtv to work, it seems that I have a
nack for finding hardware that not linux friendly.

I finally gave up on trying to fix my rca vcr dvd burner. After fixing the
burner the vcr quit and no longer displays any video. What would be a good
replacement?
