I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I never mind these
OT-but-still-technical posts.  I am interested in a lot of technical
things, and Linux serves as a useful beacon for finding others with
such interests.  I find this camcorder thread useful and interesting,
and I'm clearly not the only one.

If someone started a thread about religion*, politics, or My Little
Pony, I might get more annoyed, but I generally like the OT posts I've
seen here.

* I specifically mean non-technical religion.  Evangelizing for the
Church of Emacs or the Cult of Vi would still be fine by me. :-)
