[Cialug] Maxtor drives

For a while, I was sticking with them because I they were always nice
enough to send me replacement drives that were greater in capacity to
the original, dead drive. I owned one 8 GB drive about 6 years ago.=20
It died with only a few months left on the warranty. I got a 20 GB
drive replacement. That one died (do to my own faults, not Maxtor's -
I dropped it on a cement floor) after about two years, and was
replaced with a 40 GB. I still have that drive in an SMB server.

I used to stick with Western Digital drives, but have been burned by
them ever since they passed the 36 GB size. Now a days, I only
purchase Seagate drives because of the 5 year warranty. Plus, I have
been extremely happy with their SATA performance. To top all that
off, Seagate drives run quieter than my Wester Digitals.
